Surviving Summer

Indie drama starring Hilary Duff, Ellen Burstyn and Michael Murphy. Greta (Duff) is a troubled New York teen who is sent to New Jersey to live with her grandparents (Burstyn and Murphy) for the summer. When she takes a job as a waitress in a local restaurant, she falls in love with the restaurant’s cook, Julie (Evan Ross), but their summer romance runs into trouble when Greta’s grandparents find out about Julie’s criminal past.
